You may have thought that you couldn't afford to get organized. In fact, you can't afford disorgainzation.

Patricia of Evanston, IL:

Today, I started working with ALL YOUR DUCKS IN A ROW, Kim Alexander, to be exact. I had accepted a certain amount of disorder as a fact of life. Moreover, I cleverly developed what I will call "Cosmetic Clean," a style of tidiness that makes me look so incredibly well organized that it fools everyone but me. I never could develop the knack of lying to myself so convincingly that I actually fooled myself. I never forgot about that bottom drawer filled with "stuff." Or that neat pile with a ticking bomb in it, somewhere. This is the recipe for life as I know it: scarred with stress ("I need a 48-hour day!!!"), wasted time ("I KNOW it's in here SOMEWHERE!) and, ugh, wasted money ("I just bought this. I already had one!") ... I didn't realize what a high price I was paying for chaos until I started to size it up and tally its toll on my life. There are some "soft" costs (real, but hard to quantify) and there are some "hard" costs (actual dollars and cents I took out of my personal pocket and kissed good-bye). But the real point is that my disorganization overwhelmed me and I didn't have time for the things that matter-quality time for myself, my family, my friends... How stressful is that?

Now, as I write this, I think about the new habits Kim taught me that will allow me to manage the everydayness so I can experience the fun, relaxing, rejuvenating things I now have the time to do. The confidence to know I can maintain it without jumping through flaming hoops? Priceless.

Elliot (9 years old), Chicago, IL:

Kim is a genius. She made my room just what I needed. I have shelving that goes sky high, because I am a big reader. It's heaven in my room. Before Kim my room looked like something a sewer rat lived in, now it's a palace where I can find what I need, read, and feel proud!

Leslie W. Chicago, IL:

I have always been a disorganized person, who has lots of stuff. To my dismay, I moved into a new condo to find it did not have enough storage space. Providence struck when I met Kim and All Your Ducks in a Row. Kim, in her gentle fashion, was like Mary Poppins for my home. She figured out what I needed for each room to make it more user friendly. Now my enormous clothes and shoe collections are organized in a way that lets me use what I own. She carefully thought about what I needed for each room, and found attractive and useful containers. For half the money I would have spent on California Closets for my bedroom, each room in my house has a place for everything. Kim is the third organizer I have used, but by far the best and the most cost effective. She is a gem!
